LMAX Digital volumes continue to slide in July, though this is a function of thinner liquidity conditions in the broader market into the summer months. Total notional volume for Tuesday came in at $819 million, which was actually a 2.7% improvement from Monday volume.

Volume was up across the board from Monday, with both Bitcoin and Ether outpacing Monday volumes.

Total notional volume at LMAX Digital over the past 30 days comes in at $35.3 billion. Average trading size for Bitcoin over the past 30 days comes in at $9,108.

Average trading size for Ether over the past 30 days comes in at 4,077. The average daily trading range for BTCUSD is $2,453. The average daily trading range for ETHUSD is $201.

When it comes to new headlines in the space, we’re grasping at straws. We’re into summer doldrums trade and very little is going on in the way of major stories and headlines that we don’t already know about. 

The biggest one is the China crackdown, but this is nothing new, and as we said in our Tuesday report, we believe most of the downside risk associated with this has already been priced in.

Technically speaking, we’ve highlighted $36,700 and $32,700 as the key short-term levels to watch in the price of Bitcoin.

A break on either end would be required to hint at the next directional move, though ultimately, we remain confined to a more prominent consolidation between $41,325 and $28,800.

As far as directional bias in Ether goes, we recommend just paying attention to the Bitcoin levels to give a hint at when to expect movement in the price of Ether.
