Low volatility – good or bad for the markets?

LMAX Exchange CEO, David Mercer, comments on the recent low volatility in the markets resulting from the gradual return of global economic stability. Mercer shares his thoughts on the opportunities available for lean, agile, efficient venues who can potentially benefit from clients now holding their trading positions longer, by offering swap facilities or the ability to roll a position. Other initiatives such as the investment in international distribution capabilities and the diversification of a venue’s portfolio to offer non Spot FX products will assist in creating value for when volatility eventually returns.
