Total notional volume from last Monday through Friday came in at $7.7 billion, 57% higher than a week earlier.

It was an impressive week overall, with total volume exceeding the 1 yard mark each day from Monday to Friday.

Breaking it down per coin, bitcoin volume came in at $4.2 billion, 34% higher than the previous week. Ether volume came in at $857 million, 32% higher than the week earlier.

Total notional volume over the past 30 days comes in at $29.1 billion.

Looking at average position size over the past 30 days, we’re seeing average bitcoin position size at $12,425 and average position size for ether at $3,142.

Market volatility has trended higher in recent weeks, with bitcoin volatility recently tracking up to its highest levels in 2024.

We’re looking at average daily ranges in bitcoin and ether of $4,196 and $179 respectively.

We come into the new week with the crypto market in a consolidation state following some impressive moves.

The most notable move of course coming from bitcoin following the surge to a fresh record high through $100k last week.

Overall however, demand continues to be there at every dip. And with seasonal trend analysis still showing room for upside, we could see another healthy rally before the year is out.

One of the most interesting points to highlight right now is ETH performance, or better yet, ETH outperformance in recent days.

The Trump administration is sending a strong message of support for crypto assets and this has been a major benefit to Ethereum related projects.

Having said this, and knowing that ETH likes to follow bitcoin, we wonder if ETH will be looking to push to finally take out its record high from 2021.

Back in 2021, bitcoin made a record high that was followed up with an ETH record high. So far, in 2024, despite bitcoin making fresh record highs, ETH has yet to follow suit.

But now that we’re finally seeing ETH breaking out, we wouldn’t at all be surprised to see an acceleration to a record high between now and year end.
