Theresa May will invoke Article 50 today, making Brexit official and triggering the countdown to an exit which is projected to occur by April 2019. This will mark the start to a two year period where Britain and the EU will attempt to negotiate the terms of the breakup. How will this all impact the Pound?

Next 24 hours: Euro Not Ready to Break Out Just Yet

Wednesday was somewhat anticlimactic, with currencies continuing to consolidate recent moves. We did see some intraday volatility, but there were no significant deviations from Tuesday closing levels. The Article 50 invocation was well telegraphed and in the end, the Pound didn’t move all that much considering.
